FRANK NUYTS

Making songs from the heart for everyone hearts

Frank studied percussion at the Ghent Conservatory and composition at the world famous IPEM institute with Lucien Goethals.Till 2016 was he teaching composition and percussion at The School of Arts Ghent.He is an all-round composer with a solid reputation, whose music is played all around the globe.He received many awards, like the first Sabam Awards ever for classical music 2013. During his career he has already composed thousands of pages and countless hours of music. Inexhaustible as he is, he is  putting now the most of his energy and talent in BLO as composer and marimba player.

Frank Nuyts is an all-round composer with a solid reputation, whose music is played all around the globe. He feels at home in many genres and makes a point of introducing a lot of variety, loads of energy and a grand dose of humour into his work.

Frank Nuyts was born in Oostende in 1957. He studied percussion at the Ghent Conservatory and composition with Lucien Goethals at the Instituut voor Pyschoacoustica en Electronische Muziek (IPEM). Around 1985, his style started veering towards post-modernism.

FRANK DEBRUYNE

Harmonizing Hearts and Beats.

Frank studied at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent baroque music (recorder) and later contemporary music and jazz (on the saxophone). As a performer Frank Debruyne played with every relevant orchestra in Belgium, from the Brussels Philharmonic to the Belgian National Orchestra. He played in a whole range of groups and projects from jazz, pop, rock and blues to contemporary music, poetry and theatre. 

This brought him in concert halls all over the world: Amsterdam, Paris, Capetown, New Orleans, Shanghai …

You can hear him in the soundtrack of Katarakt composed by Steve Willaert. He composes for BLO, together with Frank Nuyts.

RONALD DHAENE

Capturing the Essence of Rhythm and Emotion

Ronald studied percussion (Frank Nuyts and Wim Konink) at the Ghent Conservatory and Jazz drums (Bruno Castellucci) at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He followed masterclasse with Amadito Valdés (Buona Vista Social Club), Giraldo Piloto,…

He played with Ad Comminotto, Toots Tielemans, Nik Phelps, Neal Morse...

As freelance musician he joined a lot of classical orchestras like the Spectra Ensemble, the Goeyvaerts Consort, the Flemish Symphonic Orchestra and in a lot of Big-Bands.

In addition to his reputation as a live musician he is also a highly requested studio musician.

STIJN DELDAELE

Sculpting Emotions, Painting Dreams.

Stijn, graduated bass, jazz and light music at the Ghent Conservatory . in the class of Stefan Lievestro (NL).He also attended masterclasses with Scott Ambush (Spyro Gyra), Gary Willis (Tribal Tech) and KaiEckhardt (John Mclaughlin).

He is active in different genres such as: jazz, jazzfunk, folk and contemporary classical music. He participates a lot of projects. in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, The UK, Denmark, Italy,...

He worked with Patrick Dorcean, Steven Delanoye, Jeroen Van Herzele, Phoenix jazz project (USA), Precious Wilson (Eruption), ... For BLO he built his own 5-string Bass.​
